“Tulips from the Singel, champagne on a canal boat and a dress I sketched myself: that is my perfect Amsterdam day.” Nora laughs as she says it, but every word is true, and the evening she brings to your hotel usually borrows a little from all three: a bloom on the table, a bottle in the ice bucket, and an outfit you will find yourself complimenting twice.
Honey blonde hair worn long, hazel eyes full of mischief, an athletic 166 cm frame and 26 years of refusing to take the direct route: that is Nora in a sentence. Spirited and adventurous, she is the one who suggests the detour, the late walk over the bridges of De Wallen to watch the neon ripple across the Oudezijds Voorburgwal while the Oude Kerk looms dark above the rooftops. She is warm enough that every detour feels like a gift rather than a dare, and she always seems to know which lane leads somewhere worth seeing.
Fashion design is her creative outlet. She fills notebooks with sketches, notices the cut of a jacket from across a room and can explain why a hemline works in a handful of words. Champagne is her idea of a proper toast, poured cold and raised to something specific. Flower markets are her Saturday mornings; the Bloemenmarkt is a favourite, though she swears the smaller stalls hide the better blooms. Her own style is sun-kissed resort glamour, bold red and the occasional flash of leopard print, the look of someone who packed for the Riviera and decided Amsterdam would do nicely instead.
Nora calls Amsterdam Centrum home and reaches hotels around the Dam and along the canal ring with ease. Tina shares her designer's eye, and Tiffany has never been known to refuse a glass of champagne. Nora would add that good company, like good champagne, should never be allowed to go flat.
